Car Dealer Social Network

Amazingly, things have been relatively silent regarding the ongoing hurricane of information / mis-information surrounding True Car.

Earlier in the month the State of Colorado Department of Revenue Auto Industry Division and the Kansas Automobile Dealers Association both issued notices to dealers.

Does anyone have a comprehensive update as to the legal standings of either of these actions?  Have there been any additional statements issued by Auto Dealer Assoc's or State Departments?   Has True Car responded to any of the ongoing controversy?

Not trying to deliberately stir the pot, but have an upcoming meeting with upper management and am trying to be as informed as possible.  Any constructive input would be appreciated...extremist opinions on both sides of the controversy may be left at the door.  Thank you.

Edward, thanks for the post about TrueCar. I hope someone does reach out to you with the information you're looking for. From what I've seen in the industry, there's been a big backlash against TrueCar on a dealership management level, but none of the discussion, like you said, is about the legal implications of their data mining.

We'll see if anybody else can offer good feedback on the issue...
