Internet Sales Managers Community

Car Dealer Social Network

When you type in a search in Google, Yahoo or Bing you will see four basic assets classes appear on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP). In Google there are some additional assets classes that show up that include Google Profiles and New Alert icons. We will discuss them in a future article.

This is an example that shows some of the asset classes I mentioned:

Your Internet Marketing Plan

How often are you uploading items each month to plug into these four assets classes?

I have written alot about "content" SEO strategies but it is also important to consider all four asset classes if you want to dominate your local market or your most important search phrases. If you have any questions on how to leverage all four assets classes, submit a question to guide the discussion.

If you are not adding new items to each of the four classes above, what is holding you back?

Tom,
Adding video to bolster search results is not as difficult as it may seem. It does however take a level of focus. Most dealerships that attempt using video try it and then when they don't see immediate results throw up their hands and move on to something else. If you are going to use video you will have to develop enough content to make it worth while. Just putting together a youtube channel and loading your stores commercials will NOT get the job done. I generally load five to ten videos a month, with varying subjects. Product comparisons, like the one found in the search (link below) are very effective. Note we are a Nissan store in Naples, Florida.
I have made video our main branding tool for our internet sales department. Salesperson introductions, financing options, Trade in value advice, etc. Our videos are produced well and most stores probably don’t have that ability, but production value isn’t everything. I will say that the flip camera is o.k. but if you are going to embrace video get a decent video camera $400 - $800 and used a computer program like windows movie maker to add titles and text. Yes you have to dedicate some time to learn it or find someone in your store to help.
You should set up multiple channels to post your videos and my advice is not to use the multi-uploading tube mogul. Yes it is easier, but will limit your exposure. Since a single video can be loaded onto several different sites with different titles tags and descriptions you will get better search results. There is an art to titling, tagging and describing your videos for effectiveness. That is a post for another day. Good luck!

Tom,
To see one example, type into Google images "ford raptor nebraska" or "ford F150 nebraska" and you will see the images I added to your microsite are #1 in the Google image search results. The proper tagging and placement of images can start to make the images appear in regular search results also.

I will be discussing video and image strategies at the 7th Digital Dealer Conference in Nashville on Nov 1-3rd. I don't have a webinar scheduled at this time but I am considering setting up some online classes because of the demand.

I'd like to learn more about adding video and image assets on the search pages. Are you going to have a workshop that addresses these items anytime soon?
