There are countless places that a dealer can spend on digital advertising. In many cases dealers are simply looking for the best solution that will solve their problems, namely lack of business via digital channels. You know that you are missing deals, you just don't know how to fix it. In my opinion the single best allocation would be in educating your best and brightest to handle these efforts in house.
Of course there will still be the need to budget for the tools that will be needed to grow your digital marketing presence, but the investment in educating yourself and your team will pay dividends tenfold. In educating your team you will build a real knowledge base that will help in deciding which tools are needed and which ones waste your dealerships time and money.
By investing in building your digital marketing strategy from within, you will outpace your competition that is still randomly looking for the silver bullet. By making the investment in educating and growing your people, you will be building an environment that will give your dealership the opportunity to become innovative and as my boss likes to say “smarter than the average bear”.
