The 9th Digital Dealer Conference will be held from October 12-14th in Las Vegas. I strongly encourage every dealership to send at least one person from their store to the event. Ideally, I would send someone from service, sales and management to get the full impact of the education that will be offered at the conference.

Glenn Pasch Climbing the Sandpile

One of my first jobs was working with my father at a company that supplied stone, concrete and asphalt for construction sites. I worked in the labs breaking everything down to make sure the ingredients were correct. Imagine taking a cake and breaking it down to see if the right amounts of sugar, flour and butter were put in. It was kind of like that.

Back then, one of the things I enjoyed doing was walking around and looking at the enormous excavations and also the size of the sand pil

Brian Pasch Flipboard Video Demonstration by Brian Pasch

This video was too large to upload on this site because of the 100 Mb limit but I wanted to show all members how cool the Flipboard App for the iPad looks. It took me 2 minutes to install the App and it turned by boring Twitter stream into a stylish social media magazine.

The iPad app converted by Twitter stream into a cool Automotive Social Media magazine.

The Flipboard App also brings up an interesting point. Would you read the magazine of your Twitter feed?

It all starts with the vehicle pictures. Upon looking at CARPORT EXAMPLES, I see that some suggestions are in order. I have been doing vehicle pictures since 1998 and here are some suggestions.

Look at what the pro photographers do for the OEM's. You never see the tight in, bubble shot. Also, many sloppy, in a hurry pics.

Here are some suggestions that make a difference:

  • Turn on the lights - high beam
  • Turn on 4 way flashers - calls attention to the

We have all studied the relative R.O.I. of purchasing third party leads vs. developing our own through enhanced S.E.O. and conversion tools placed on our dealer's websites and/or through direct digital marketing inestments like banner ads or perhaps data base sourced email blasts -- or we should have.
